Sk Engineering Works

Sk Engineering Works is right here at 2-136/1 in Shobana Colony. Balanagar is full of shops like ours, so there is always something happening on our street. We do a lot of heavy lifting and metal turning throughout the week. Most of the time, the shop floor is covered in metal shavings and oil. We have a few guys who have been with us for years. They know how to run the machines better than I do. We handle whatever work comes through the door. Some days it is just small repairs for locals, while other days it is much bigger fabrication work. It gets very noisy with the grinders going all day long. We try to keep the neighbors happy, but engineering is a loud business by nature. Our shop is not the biggest one around, but we make use of every inch of space we have available. Balanagar is a good area for this kind of work because there are plenty of material suppliers right nearby. Sometimes we run out of specific bolts or steel grades, so we have to go out and find them. It is a hands-on life. We do not spend much time on the computer unless we are checking an invoice. Most of our tools are old-school, but they are reliable. We just want to finish the work and get home to our families. It is not a fancy corporate place at all.
