Shiv Shakti Mobiles

I usually get to Shop No.24 in Bahadurpally around ten in the morning. The shutters are always a bit stiff, so they make a loud noise when I pull them up. It’s a small space here at Shiv Shakti Mobiles, but we make it work. There are shelves against the walls filled with screen guards and chargers that have been there for months. The floor needs a good sweep every few hours because the dust from the road just blows right in. Bahadurpally is a busy place, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home and stops by to ask about a new battery or why their screen is flickering again. I sit behind the counter most of the day. It’s nothing fancy, just a wooden table with a few tools scattered around. Sometimes the light inside is a bit dim, but I’ve got a small lamp for when I have to look at the tiny bits inside a phone. People walk past and wave, or they pop in just to chat for a minute while their device charges. It’s mostly regular folks from around the neighborhood. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights outside, just the name painted above the door. Most days go by pretty quick. I eat my lunch in the back room where it's a bit quieter. It’s just how things are here, quiet moments followed by a rush of people wanting something fixed right away.
