Chandana Fancy

We are located in Shop 1 at Jaswanth Residency. It’s on Turbo Missionary Road. If you know where Chaitanya Junior College is, we are right across from it. Being near a college means there are always students walking past or stopping in. The shop is full of all sorts of small items. We call it "fancy" because of the variety. There are ribbons, buttons, hair clips, and little trinkets everywhere. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. I have to use a small step ladder to reach the stuff at the top. Sometimes I worry I’ll trip over a box on the floor. It’s a bit cramped, but that’s just how these shops are. We spend the day helping people find that one specific shade of thread or a matching bangle. It’s a lot of small talk with the locals. The road outside can get pretty loud when the college lets out. We have a small radio behind the counter that we keep on a low volume. It’s mostly just us and the customers. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. We open up early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. It’s a simple routine. We keep our accounts in a red book and use a calculator that’s missing a button. It still works if you press it hard enough. That is just how things go for us daily.
