Working as an Asst. Engineer in Hyderabad means being right in the thick of things. My place is at House Number 6-1-699 in Khairthabad. It’s a central spot, and if you’ve been to Hyd-4, you know it’s always busy. The office is really just a part of the house where I’ve set up my desk and all my engineering files. It’s not a professional suite with a sign outside or anything like that. It’s just where the work happens. I spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at blueprints on my screen. The area around Khairthabad is great because you can get anywhere quickly, but the downside is the constant sound of horns and buses. I usually start early before the heat gets too bad. My desk is covered in scribbled notes and half-finished drawings because there’s always a new project coming in. I don’t follow a strict corporate schedule; I just work until the job is done for the day. Sometimes I take a break and walk down the street for some Irani chai, which is the best part of being in this neighborhood. It’s an honest way to make a living, providing engineering help to those who need it in the city. The space is a bit cramped with all the books and equipment, but it works for what I need to do. It’s just a regular Hyderabad life.
