Assistant Engineer In Agi Glass Factory

I work over at the Agi Glass Factory in Somajiguda as an assistant engineer. If you know the Hyderabad area, we're right at 6-3-939. It's a loud place, always the sound of machines and glass moving around. Being an engineer here means I’m usually on my feet most of the shift. Somajiguda is a busy part of town, so getting to work through the traffic is sometimes the hardest part of the day. Inside the factory, things are pretty hot because of the furnaces. We make all sorts of glass containers and bottles. My job is basically making sure the machines don't break down and fixing them when they do. It’s a lot of grease and tools. I’ve been here long enough that I know the quirks of every piece of equipment we own. We aren't a big corporate office with fancy carpets; it's a real floor with real work. Sometimes we have to stay for double shifts if a production line gets stuck. The guys on the floor are good people, and we mostly just talk about the work or what’s for lunch. It’s straightforward work. No one is trying to be anything they aren't. We just want to get the glass out the door and make sure nobody gets hurt while doing it. It’s a steady living in a busy city. Most days are long but we get the job done regardless of the heat.
