Ashok Dall Mill

Ashok Dall Mill has been operating out of Dr.No.15-9-5 in Mukthyar Gunj for years. We are very close to the Siddmbar Bazar Masjid, so we hear the prayers every day while we work. The mill is usually covered in a fine layer of grain dust, and there is a constant rumble from the machinery that processes the pulses. It is a very old part of town, and the streets are narrow, so getting the big sacks in and out can be a bit of a headache. We don’t have fancy signs or a big office. It’s just a place where the work happens. Most of the people who buy from us have been coming here since their fathers were running their own shops. We know everyone in the Gunj, and they know us. The morning starts with unloading the raw grain, and then we spend the rest of the day monitoring the machines. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend a few hours fixing a belt or a motor. It is hard work and it gets quite hot inside, but it is what we do. We don’t really do any advertising because everyone around the Masjid knows where to find us. If you walk through Mukthyar Gunj, you can usually smell the grains being processed. It’s a simple life, but the mill keeps us busy from sunrise until the evening when we finally shut the heavy doors.
