Arunadhaya Primary School

The school is right there on the Nagaram Main Road. If you know Kushaiguda, you know how busy it gets around 8:30 in the morning. We spend a lot of time just making sure the kids get inside safely because the road is right there. The building itself is pretty straightforward. It’s a primary school, so it’s never actually quiet. There is always someone running in the hallway or a teacher calling out for everyone to sit down. We have been here in Hyderabad 500062 for quite some time. The walls have seen a lot of drawings and charts taped up and taken down over the years. We don’t have a massive campus, just the school building where everything happens. During lunch, you can smell everyone’s tiffin boxes from the classrooms. It’s a mix of different smells and it gets quite loud. The staff room is usually a bit cluttered with notebooks and empty tea cups. We just try to keep things moving day by day. It’s hard work looking after small children but we are used to the routine now. On rainy days, the main road gets a bit muddy and the kids track it into the lobby. We just mop it up and keep going. It’s just a regular local school trying to get through the syllabus. Nothing more, nothing less. We keep the gates shut once classes start and that's our day. It is just basic everyday work.
