Anudan Prapt Primary School, Dhobipura

Down in Madinaguda, you’ll find us at Anudan Prapt Primary School, Dhobipura. We are right in the heart of this part of Hyderabad, and it feels very much like a neighborhood spot. The school is a simple place. We have a few rooms where the local children gather every day to go through their lessons. There isn't any flashy signage or corporate feel here; it’s just a plain building where we do our work. The days start early when the air is still a bit cool. We sweep out the dust and set up the desks for the morning session. A lot of our students come from the families living in the nearby lanes, so there is a real sense of being part of the local life. We don't have a lot of resources, so we make do with what we have. The teachers spend their time explaining things over and over until the kids get it. During the monsoon, we have to keep an eye on the roof, and in the summer, we try to stay in the shade as much as possible. It is a very normal existence. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide a place for the kids to come, learn a bit, and be safe for a few hours. Once the afternoon bell rings, the place clears out fast.
