Ankur Pre School

Our pre-school is tucked into a residential lane in Nallakunta, at 1-8-726/21. It’s a smaller building, which is actually nice because the little kids don’t feel overwhelmed. We have colorful paintings on the walls, mostly done by a local artist a few years back. There are some swings and a slide in the front area that get a lot of use every single morning. The floors are kept clean because the toddlers are always crawling or sitting down to play with blocks. You’ll hear a lot of nursery rhymes playing if you stand near the gate. We try to keep a routine, with snack times and nap times, though it rarely goes exactly as planned when you have twenty three-year-olds in one room. The staff here are mostly local women who have a lot of patience. We don't use fancy tablets or high-tech gadgets; it’s mostly just paper, crayons, and toys. It can get quite loud during pick-up time when all the rickshaws and cars arrive in the narrow lane. We’ve had a few generations of the same families come through these doors. It’s a simple place where children get used to being away from home for a few hours. Nothing too complicated, just a neighborhood spot for the young ones to start out their schooling life before moving to the bigger campuses.
