It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially when we’re carrying parts or heavy bags, but you get used to it after the first few weeks. The market is always buzzing with people buying things or just hanging out, so there is never a quiet moment during the day. Our office space is tucked away from the main stairs. It’s where we handle all the engineering side of things. It’s not a large area, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when all of us are in at the same time. We have our drawings and tools spread out on the tables. Balaji Market has been around for a long time, and being on the second floor gives us a bit of a view of the street below, which is usually jammed with bikes. We aren't interested in making the place look like a fancy tech office. It’s an engineering workshop and office combined. We focus on the tasks at hand, whether it’s a small repair or a bigger project. Most people who come to see us are locals or regular clients who already know the way up. It’s a simple, functional spot for the work we do every day.
