Carnival Cinemas

If you know the Ameerpet area, you probably know where the Big Bazaar is. We are right there in the Goldsport 24 Carat Building. Working at Carnival Cinemas is a lot different than people think. It’s not just watching movies all day. Most of the time we are cleaning up popcorn from under the seats or making sure the air conditioning is running right because people complain if it’s too hot. The building is usually pretty loud with people coming in and out of the mall. We have several screens and the schedules are always changing. Friday is our busiest day for sure. We all have to stay late and sometimes the last show doesn’t finish until after midnight. By then the floors are sticky and we are all tired. We get a lot of students from the coaching centers around here. They come for the afternoon shows when they should probably be in class. The staff room is small and we usually just eat our lunch quickly before the next rush starts. The projectors need a lot of looking after so they don't break down in the middle of a film. It’s a bit of a maze back there with all the wires and speakers. We just try to keep things moving so the crowd doesn't get restless. It’s a regular job for us, just with more noise.
