Al Huda Primary School

Down on Military Dairy Farm Road, you'll find Al Huda Primary School. It’s located in Kanajiguda, and most people around here just know it as the place where the little kids go. Every morning, the road gets busy with cycles and rickshaws bringing children in their uniforms. We’ve got smaller classrooms because, well, the kids are small. It’s mostly just reading out loud and learning how to write properly at this stage. The walls have some drawings on them, and there is always a bit of dust from the chalk. Sometimes the goats from the nearby area wander close to the gate, which makes the kids laugh. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. I usually sit at a wooden desk near the entrance to keep an eye on who is coming and going. It’s a simple setup. When it rains, the sound on the roof is quite loud, and we have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We go through a lot of pencils and erasers in a week. After the final bell at the end of the day, the place goes quiet very suddenly. It’s a nice change from the shouting and playing that goes on during the break. We just stay here and tidy up a bit before heading home ourselves. It’s just a normal primary school doing what schools do in Hyderabad. We don't have much space for a playground, so the kids just run around in the small front area.
