Akash Nursery School

Akash Nursery School is at Door No 23-108 in Venkatapuram. It’s a small place, mainly because we only have the little ones here. If you come by in the morning, you’ll see the parents dropping off their toddlers at the door. Some of the kids are happy to be here, but there’s always one or two crying for their mothers. The classrooms are bright, filled with plastic chairs and low tables. We have a lot of charts on the walls showing fruits, colors, and animals. The floor is covered with those foam mats so the kids don’t hurt themselves when they tumble over. It’s a noisy place, full of singing and the sound of toy blocks being knocked down. We have a small area in the back where we keep the strollers and extra bags. The bathroom is specially designed with small sinks for tiny hands. Around noon, the whole place gets quiet because it’s nap time. The fans hum and the kids curl up on their mats. Venkatapuram is a busy neighborhood, so there’s always the sound of bikes and vendors outside, but the kids sleep right through it. We don’t have any big slogans or fancy programs. We just spend the day teaching them how to share and how to hold a pencil. It’s simple work, but it keeps us very busy until the parents come back at pick-up time in the afternoon.
