Accountant

This place is in Gundu Papala village, which is part of the Dorni Padu Mandal area. My father, Shiva Reddy, is well known here, and I work out of our family spot. It is a quiet village in the Kurnool district, so things move a bit slower than in the big cities. People from Koila Kuntla and other nearby places come to me when they have issues with their farm accounts or need to file some official papers. I spend a lot of time looking at ledgers and making sure the math adds up. Dealing with the government forms can be a real headache for folks who haven't done it before, so they just bring the paperwork to me. The weather here in Andhra Pradesh gets very hot during the summer months, so the office can feel a bit stuffy, but the ceiling fan keeps things moving. I have a computer, but I still use a lot of physical notebooks because that’s how a lot of the older farmers prefer to see their records. It's not a corporate job or anything like that. It’s just me sitting here in the village helping out neighbors with their money matters. Sometimes I have to travel a bit to the Taluka office to get things stamped or submitted. Most of the day is just spent checking numbers and drinking tea with whoever stops by for help. It’s honest work and keeps me busy throughout the year.
