Abira Rice Shop

Abira Rice Shop has been part of Sri Aurobindo Colony in Miyapur for a bit now. Our door is at 2-98-54. It’s a neighborhood shop, so we know a lot of the faces that come through. Selling rice is what we do, day in and day out. We have different kinds of sacks stacked up. Some days it’s quiet and some days everyone seems to need a refill at the same time. Miyapur is a busy area but our little corner in the colony stays mostly calm. We don’t have any big sales pitches or anything. You just come in, tell us what you need, and we weigh it out. The shop isn't very big, so we have to keep things stacked high to make room. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the grain around, but that’s normal for a rice shop. We’ve seen the colony change over the years. New houses going up and more people moving in. We just stay here at the same spot. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see one of us sitting out front when there aren't any customers. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town. We just want to make sure the local families have what they need for dinner. It’s a simple living. No fancy computers, just a scale and some good rice. It's just us doing our thing in Miyapur every day.
