Our office is in Flat No. 207 of the S. K. Apartment, which is right across from the Directorate of Insurance in Abids. Abids is a very famous part of the city, known for its shops and the huge number of people who pass through every day. Working out of an apartment means we have a bit more of a private feel, even though we are in the middle of a noisy commercial district. We handle our plantation business from this second-floor space. Krishi-sarathi Plantations is the name we use. The elevator in the building is a bit temperamental, so we often end up taking the stairs, which is good for staying active I suppose. We have maps and charts on the walls to keep track of what’s happening on the land we manage elsewhere. It’s a bit of a contrast being in a city apartment while dealing with green things like plantations, but it’s where we need to be for the administrative side. The balcony overlooks the main road, and you can see the whole world going by from up there. We don't have any big signs out front, just a small nameplate by the door. We keep our files in big metal cabinets and try to keep the place as tidy as we can. It’s a quiet, busy life we have here in the heart of Abids.
