Our place is right in the middle of the bustle in Begum Bazar. The address is 5-3-488 in Old Topkhana. If you’ve ever been to this part of Hyderabad, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and people moving around. We are quite close to the Begum Bazar Police Station, which is usually the landmark we tell people to look for when they get lost. It is not the easiest place to drive into, especially with the narrow lanes and the carts everywhere, but this is where we have been for a long time. The building itself is an older one, typical for this area of the city. Inside, it's just a regular workspace with desks and stacks of papers. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. Most of our day is spent talking to people who walk in or dealing with the noise from the street outside. It gets pretty loud during the peak hours, but you get used to it after a few weeks. Begum Bazar has a certain energy that you don't find in the newer parts of town like Hitech City. We like the grit of it. It feels real. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall around the corner when things get too hectic. It's just a small team of us here, doing what we do every day without much fuss and without worrying about being fancy.
