Over in Hyderabad, N. Ravi Kumar looks after things for Sagar Cement Limited. We have a presence here that’s been around for quite some time. Dealing with cement in a big city like Hyderabad is a lot different than being out at the plants. Here, it’s a lot of meetings, phone calls, and keeping track of where the bags are going. The office is a busy place, but it doesn't feel like those big fancy corporate towers. It feels more like a local office where everyone knows your name. We spend a lot of time on the phone with sites all over the state. We don’t use any special language or try to sound more important than we are. We just supply cement to the people who are building things. Hyderabad is a fast-moving city, so we have to stay on our toes to keep up with the demand. The desks are usually messy and there’s always a tea vendor coming by. We don’t have a big handbook on how to talk to people; we just talk to them normally. It’s a straightforward job and we like the people we work with. Even though we are part of a bigger company, this office feels like its own little world. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks and make sure the paperwork is in order. It keeps us busy and out of trouble, which is enough for us most weeks. We appreciate the people who stop by the office.
