Orient Cement, C.K.Birla Group

We are Orient Cement, which is under the C.K. Birla Group. Our specific spot is at the Staff Mess, Room No-17, in Devapur. It’s a bit of an unusual place for an office, but it works for us. Being in the staff mess area means we are right where the people are. We see everyone coming and going for their meals. Room 17 is where we keep our desk and the papers we need to run things. It’s in the heart of the Devapur operations in Andhra Pradesh. Life here is centered around the work shift schedules. You hear the whistles and the trucks all day and night. We are just a small part of the bigger group, but our little room is where we handle our specific tasks. It’s not a big office with air conditioning and carpets. It’s a plain room in the mess building. We like it because we are close to the action and the people. If someone needs to find us, they just head over to the mess and look for number 17. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don’t need much else besides a working light and a place to sit. It gets the job done. Devapur is a working town, and we fit right in with the rest of the staff here. Some people stop by just to say hello on their way to lunch. We don't mind that at all, as it keeps things friendly.
