Shri Shakti Granites

We’ve been here on Old Municipality Road in Ilkal for a good while now. People know us mostly for the granite slabs we keep out front. It isn't a fancy place, just a regular yard where we do the work. Ilkal is a place where stone is everywhere, so it made sense to set up here. Most days start early with the trucks coming in. The noise is just part of the day. We spend a lot of time moving pieces around so people can see what they are looking at. Sometimes the sun is really hot on the stone, and other days the rain makes everything muddy, but we just keep at it. My father used to say that stone doesn't move itself, so we spend a lot of our energy just shifting things from one side of the yard to the other. It’s heavy work and our hands are usually rough from the grit. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk and some chairs where we sit to talk about sizes and prices. It’s a simple setup. We know the neighbors around here and they know us. Most people find us because they were already driving down Old Municipality Road and saw the stacks. We don't do much else besides watch the inventory and make sure the cuts are what someone asked for. It’s just how things go here at Shri Shakti Granites.
