Kiran Granite

Kiran Granite is located in New Kothwal Peth, which is Ward Number 5 here in Ilkal. If you know the Bagalkot district, you know Ilkal is famous for its stone. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years. It’s not a shiny showroom. It is a working yard where we keep the granite blocks. The ground is always covered in stone chips and the air smells like wet rock. We get up early to start the machines. Most of our days are spent measuring and checking the quality of the slabs that come through. We are just local people working a local job. The Taluq of Ilkal has a lot of competition, but we just stay in our corner and do what we do. We don't use big words or try to act like we are bigger than we are. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait, or a machine breaks and we fix it ourselves. It's just part of the daily routine. We have a small office where we keep the books, but mostly we are outside. If you stop by, you might have to wait a minute while we finish moving a slab. We aren't in a rush to be anything we aren't. We just sell granite to whoever needs it for their house or building.
