The India Cements Ltd

Our office is tucked away in the Ashoka View Apartment, which is right in the Bhavaninagar area of Hubli. We are on the third floor, and from the window, you can see the Sahajeevan Apartment across the way. Working for The India Cements Ltd from this spot in Karnataka keeps us pretty busy most days. Cement is a heavy business, but our work here is mostly about the paperwork and keeping the logistics moving. There are always trucks to track and orders to check on. The office is not very big, and it gets a bit cramped when everyone is in at the same time. We have a few desks and a lot of filing cabinets that have seen better days. Hubli is a loud place, and the traffic noise from the street below is something we have just gotten used to. We start early because that is when the phone calls begin. Most of us have been here for years, so we know the local suppliers and the contractors by their first names. We do not use fancy computer systems for everything; sometimes a handwritten note on a desk is just faster. It is a straightforward operation without any bells or whistles. We just show up, do the work that needs doing, and head home when the sun goes down. It is a regular job in a regular part of town. We just try to keep the orders moving out.
