We've been here at the APMC yard in Amargol for quite a few years now. If you know this part of Dharwad, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and people moving goods around. Our office isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we handle our daily work. Most mornings start pretty early when the yard opens up. It’s noisy and dusty outside, but that is just how things are in this trade. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who drop by the office. There’s always someone coming in to check on things or ask about prices. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. Most folks around here know where to find us. My father started this, and we just keep it going day by day. Sometimes the rains make the yard a bit of a mess, but we manage. We aren't a big corporation with fancy uniforms. It is just a few of us working together to make sure everything gets handled properly. We keep track of the stock and make sure the paperwork is done, though the paperwork can be a headache sometimes. It’s a simple life here in the market. We take breaks when there is a lull in the crowd and usually grab tea from the stall nearby. That’s pretty much us. Just a local business trying to do things right in Amargol.
