Our mill is located on the first floor at 34/1/A Dharmatolla Road in the Belur area of Howrah. Being on the first floor makes things a bit interesting when we have to move heavy bags of grain up and down. Shree Kunjbihari Flour Mills is a place where there is always a layer of white flour on everything, from the machinery to our shoes. The sound of the grinding stones is something you just get used to after the first week. We spend most of our time monitoring the machines and making sure the flour comes out the right way. It’s not a fancy setup with computers and air conditioning. It’s hot, loud, and we work hard. We usually have the windows open to let some air in, and you can hear the sounds of Howrah drifting in from the street. We deal with local bakers and shops mostly. Sometimes a machine breaks down, and we have to spend half the day fixing it with greasy hands, which is just part of the job. We don’t have any big speeches about what we do. We just turn grain into flour and try to keep our customers happy. It’s a practical business, and we’ve been at it for a while now. Everyone here knows their job, and we just get on with it every day.
