In & Out

Our place is at 97/1 Foreshore Road in Shibpur. It’s right near the Bharat Petroleum station, so a lot of people use that as a landmark when they’re looking for us. Howrah is a crowded place, and Foreshore Road always has trucks or cars moving along it. We are close to the water, and you can feel that damp air sometimes in the mornings. We called it In & Out because we wanted people to feel they could just drop by and leave without any fuss. It’s not a sit-down place where you need to dress up. The floor is concrete and the counter is just a regular wooden one. We’ve been here in the 711102 area for a while, and the neighborhood knows us. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just make sure the food is ready and the place is open. Sometimes we run out of things, and we just tell people we’re out. That’s how it goes. The traffic outside can be pretty loud, especially with the tankers going to the petrol pump, but you get used to it after a week or two. We just work here and try to keep things moving. It’s a small shop in Shibpur, nothing more and nothing less. We don’t spend money on advertising; we just hope people like what we do. It's just a regular business for regular people.
