Madeshwara nursery farm

Madeshwara nursery farm is out here in Shoolagiri. It is a bit different from the city because we deal with plants and soil all day. The air is a bit better, but the sun is really strong, so we spend a lot of time watering things and making sure the young plants don't dry out. My hands are usually dirty by eight in the morning, and that’s just how it stays until I go home. We have rows of different trees and shrubs sitting in plastic bags. It isn't a manicured garden like you see in movies; it’s a working farm. There are weeds that need pulling every single day, and sometimes bugs get into the saplings, which is a real headache. People drive out to Shoolagiri to see what we have, and we just walk them around the dirt paths to show them the stock. We don't have a computer system for the plants; we just know where everything is by memory. If it rains, the whole place gets muddy, and we have to wear heavy boots. It's quiet work mostly, except when the wind picks up. We grow things slow and wait for the seasons to change. There is no rushing the plants. We just provide the space and the water and hope for the best. It's a simple life, away from the noise of the big machinery shops, just trying to keep things green.
