Kandi-Doaba Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based near the Ram Garia in Talwa. Avtar Singh is the one who handles the main address for us. We cover the Kandi and Doaba areas, which is where we get our name from. It’s a group for the farmers around here to come together. We aren't doing anything fancy. It’s just about buying seeds in bulk and trying to find better places to sell what we grow. The hills and the plains around here mean we have different kinds of soil to deal with. We spend a lot of time just talking to each other about what’s growing well and what’s not. Our "office" is really just a meeting spot where we drink tea and settle the accounts. It's not polished or corporate. You might see some muddy boots at the door. We all have our own farms to look after, so we just meet up when there’s business to attend to. It’s a lot of work coordinating everyone, but it’s worth it. We know the struggles of being a small farmer, so we try to make things a little easier by being a team. We’ve lived in this region our whole lives and we just want to keep the farming tradition going without going broke. That’s really all there is to it. No big speeches or fancy promises, just a bunch of neighbors helping each other out with the harvest and the chores.
