Baba Jitto Basmati Producer Company Limited

We’re based out in Nandpur, specifically over by Yash Paul’s place in Khour Salarian. Our focus is on basmati rice. Growing rice in this region is a long tradition, and we’ve been doing it for generations. This company was put together so that the local growers could have a bit more say in how our rice is handled once it leaves the paddies. It’s a lot of work standing in the water and making sure everything is growing right. We don’t have a fancy office or a lot of paperwork experts. We mostly talk about the crops over tea or while we’re working in the fields. The name Baba Jitto means a lot to the farmers here, so we used it for our company. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to make sure the rice we grow is treated right and that the people who work the land get a fair deal. It gets hot out there, and sometimes the irrigation is a struggle, but we manage. We aren't polished business people; we’re just folks from Nandpur who know how to grow good basmati. It’s a simple operation based on trust and hard work among neighbors. That’s about all there is to it. We just call ourselves Baba Jitto Basmati Producer Company Limited when we have to sign anything official, but we are just farmers.
