Pearl Rosary School

This is Pearl Rosary School over in Bhadreswar. We are specifically at 2 Bangashree Pally. It’s a nice enough area in the Hooghly district. The school is just a regular building where we have our classes. We have been around for a while and most people in the locality are familiar with our gate. We have different floors for the different classes to keep things somewhat separated. It’s not a massive place, but we make use of every bit of the space we have. There are lots of stairs to climb every day. The kids are always running up and down them during the breaks when they think we aren't looking. We have a small yard out front where the students gather. In the rainy season, it can get a bit muddy around the entrance, but that’s just how it is in West Bengal. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just teach the subjects and try to keep things in some kind of order. The teachers are dedicated to their work and they stay late sometimes to finish their marking or planning for the next day. It’s a lot of work running a school in a place like this. We have our morning assembly and then it’s straight to the books until the end of the day. We don't have a big fancy office for the principal, just a small desk where all the admin work gets done. It’s a practical place for local families. We just keep going day by day.
