Aranghata Girls' High School

Our school is located right on Shibtala Street in Uttarpara, which is a fairly quiet part of Hooghly if you don't count the morning rush. We have been here for a long time, and the building shows its age in a few spots, but it has a lot of character. Every morning, the street fills up with girls in their uniforms walking or coming in on rickshaws. It gets quite loud around the gates when the bell rings for the first time. Inside, the rooms have high ceilings and those big fans that click as they spin. We don’t have any of those fancy modern setups you see in the city schools, but we have enough for our students to learn. The teachers usually gather in the common room with their tiffin boxes during the break. There is a lot of chatter about lessons and the upcoming exams. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come onto the roof, which causes a bit of a distraction for the classes on the top floor. We try to keep things organized, though it can get a bit messy with all the paperwork and registers we have to maintain by hand. Being in Pin-712258 means we are part of a tight-knit community where everyone knows who we are. It is just a regular school where we do our best to get through the syllabus every year without too much fuss.
