Hotel Himalaya

Hotel Himalaya is right here on the road in Mogra, near the Kantapukur area. It is a simple place where we have some rooms for people who need a spot to stay while they are traveling through Hooghly. We started this because there weren't many places around Puratonpota for a decent night's sleep. My family helps out with the cleaning and making sure everything is okay for the guests. It is not a big fancy building, but we keep the beds tidy and the fans working. Sometimes it gets a bit loud outside with the traffic, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We mostly see workers or people visiting relatives nearby. There is a small desk where someone is usually sitting if you need a key or a bottle of water. We don't have a huge kitchen, but there are places to eat close by if you get hungry. People seem to find us okay when they look for Rakhal Chandra Das's place. We have been here for a while now and know most of the neighbors. It is just a regular local business trying to do things right. If the power goes out, we try to get the backup going as fast as we can. It’s a bit of a walk from the main station but not too bad if you have a bag. We just try to keep things quiet enough for everyone to rest.
