Chrome Hotel

Chrome Hotel is located over in Uttarpara, right on Bazar Lane in the Hooghly district. It’s a busy little corner of the world, especially since we’re so close to the market area. You can hear the sounds of the vendors and the traffic all day long. The hotel itself is a place where we try to keep things moving. We have guests coming in from all over, some staying for a night and others for longer stretches. The rooms are what they are—we keep them tidy and make sure there’s water in the jugs. The staff here is mostly local, so we know the best places to get a quick bite or which rickshaw driver is the most reliable. We don’t have a massive team with fancy uniforms; we’re just regular folks in our everyday clothes making sure the check-ins happen on time. Sometimes the power goes out and the generator kicks in with a loud hum, but that’s just part of living in this area. We’ve had some of the same furniture for years, and it’s held up well enough. People come here because it’s convenient and right in the middle of the bazar action. It’s not a quiet place to hide away, but it’s got a lot of life to it. We just open the doors every morning and see who the day brings. It’s a simple way to run a business in Hooghly without any extra fuss.
