The Olive School

You can find The Olive School just outside the main town, in Village Khan Mohammad. We are situated near Sirsa Road, so it’s easy for the buses and cars to get in and out. The area is still quite open, which gives us a bit of breathing room compared to the schools in the middle of the city. We don't have a lot of fancy landscaping, just the natural grass and some trees that have been here longer than the building. It’s a quiet spot most of the time. We go about our business without much noise. The building is a simple concrete structure. It stays sturdy. Inside, it’s just rows of desks and the usual school supplies. We spend our mornings checking the registers and making sure the lunch area is clean. It’s a very hands-on job for all of us. No one here sits around much. We are always fixing a desk or painting a wall. The kids come from the village and some from further down Sirsa Road. We like it here because it feels real. There is no pretense. If a window gets stuck, we just pry it open. It’s a practical way to run a school. We just focus on the basics and make sure the day ends on time so everyone can get home before dark.
