Jindal Stainless Ltd.

We are over here at the New Engineers Hostel in Hisar. It’s room 227, which is basically where a lot of the Jindal Stainless Ltd. work gets sorted out on this side of the plant. Life is mostly about keeping things moving with the steel production nearby. You can usually hear the hum from the factory if the wind is right. The hostel is just a practical place for the staff to stay. We spend most of our days looking at spreadsheets or checking on parts. It’s not fancy, just a room with some desks and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. People come and go all the time because the steel business never really stops. Haryana gets pretty hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going. It’s a busy spot even if it’s just a hostel room. We handle the paperwork and the technical bits that the engineers need. It’s a lot of phone calls and making sure the orders are correct before things head out. Most of us have been here long enough that the smell of the worksite feels normal now. It’s just how things are in Hisar. We don’t have a big sign or anything, just the room number. It works for us. If you’re looking for the stainless steel team in this part of the complex, this is where we sit. It’s a bit cramped when everyone is in, but we get it done. It's just a regular part of the day.
