Upadhyay Travel

Our shop is on the Main Road, right near the Bhairo Mandir here in Haridwar. If you know that area, you know it stays crowded pretty much all day long. Upadhyay Travel is just a small place tucked between a couple of other stores. I’ve been coming here every morning for years, usually starting with a quick visit to the temple next door before opening the shutters. The office is mostly just a desk, some old chairs, and a calendar that is usually a month behind. We handle a lot of local travel stuff. People stop by on their way to the temple to ask about buses or hiring a car for the day. It’s a lot of talking and phone calls. Sometimes the noise from the street is so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard over the horns. We don't have any flashy signs or anything like that. Just the name on the board. My brother helps out sometimes when things get really busy during the festivals. We try to keep things organized, but the desk is always a mess of notes and receipts. It’s just how we work. We know most of the shopkeepers around here, so there is always someone popping in for a chat. It’s a local life, and we are just a part of it. We stay until the evening lights come on and the crowds thin out.
