Gauri Travles

You can find Gauri Travles right across from the Jaipuria Atithi Bhawan at Ram Ghat. It’s a very spiritual part of Haridwar, and we can hear the river from the doorstep when it’s quiet enough. The office is just a single room with a large window facing the street. I’ve been sitting at this desk for years, watching the pilgrims go back and forth to the water. We handle all sorts of travel requests, mostly for local sightseeing or trips further up the hills. The furniture is getting a bit old, and the cushions on the chairs are a bit flat now, but it’s a comfortable place for us. We don't go in for big promises or fancy brochures. People usually come to us because they saw our sign or someone told them we were here. It is a very direct way of doing business. We talk to the customers, figure out what they need, and then get on the phone to arrange it. Sometimes we spend the whole afternoon just chatting with visitors about the town's history. The location at Ram Ghat is special to us because it feels like the heart of the city. We open up the shop every morning, sweep the floor, and wait to see who the day brings. It’s just our way of life and we have been doing it for a long time.
