Anudeep Travels

We are over at 9 Railway Road, very close to Hotel Aarti. Being near the station means it is always busy around here. At Anudeep Travels, we see a lot of people just getting off the train, looking a bit lost and tired. Our office is small, but we have enough room for a couple of benches where people can sit and rest while we sort out their travel plans. The street outside is usually a mess of rickshaws and people carrying heavy suitcases. We’ve been here for quite a while, so we know the train schedules by heart now. The office doesn't have much decoration, just a clock that’s always five minutes fast and some old posters. I spend most of my time on the phone or checking the register. It’s a busy life, especially during the peak months when the pilgrims arrive in huge numbers. We don't have any big marketing plans; we just sit here and wait for people to walk through the door. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to use torches to finish the paperwork. It is just the way things go here in Haridwar. We know the local routes well and can tell you which roads are blocked. It is a simple, practical business run by a few of us who grew up in this town. We just keep the place open and help whoever stops by.
