Talukder Sambhar

We are Talukder Sambhar, located in the Chandmari area of Guwahati on M R D Road. Guwahati is a busy place and this road is no exception at all. We see a lot of traffic passing by all day long, from buses to small cars. Our shop is just a regular place where we keep various items for the locals who live nearby. The pin code is 781003. Assam gets a lot of rain, as everyone knows, so we spend a fair bit of time making sure things don't get damp inside the store. It’s just part of the job here. We open the doors early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool and fresh. There’s a lot of noise from the rickshaws on M R D Road but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't trying to be anything more than a local shop for the people who live around Chandmari. Sometimes we get people from further away stopping by because they are passing through on the main road and need a quick item. The interior of the shop is pretty basic with simple shelves and a small counter where we sit. We handle all the inventory ourselves and it can be a lot of physical work some days. But mostly, it’s just a steady routine of serving whoever walks through the door. We’ve lived in Guwahati a long time so we know the area well. It’s a decent place to have a business even with the crowds.
