Topaz Lounge & Cafe

Topaz Lounge & Cafe is up on the 3rd floor of Adityam Plaza. We are in the Lachit Nagar area of Ulubari, Guwahati. Since we are on the third floor, you have to come up the stairs or take the lift to find us. It is a bit quieter up here than it is down on the street level, which is nice. Guwahati can get really hot and dusty, so being up a few floors helps a bit with that. We have been here for a while and we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The plaza is usually busy with people going to different offices and shops. We have some couches and tables where people just sit and spend time. We do not have any corporate rules or anything. It is just us running the place. Sometimes the coffee machine acts up or we run out of a certain type of tea, but we just deal with it as it happens. We get a lot of younger people coming in to hang out, and some older folks who just want a quiet corner. It is a simple setup. We try to keep the music at a decent level so people can actually talk. It is not a perfect place, but it is our place. We are just here every day, opening the shutters and waiting for the first person to walk in.
