We’ve been here in Ulubari for a while now, up on the first floor of Sudha Niwas. If you know Vivekananda Path, you know it gets quite busy around here, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get somewhere on time. Our office isn't anything fancy, just a few desks and a lot of files that seem to pile up no matter how much we organize them. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. People come in and out all day, mostly just local folks or people we’ve known for years through the agency. We usually have some tea around four and talk about whatever is happening in the neighborhood. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls, really. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there and wait for it to come back on, looking out the window at the street below. We don’t really do much in the way of big meetings, it’s more about just getting the daily tasks done and making sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle. It’s been this way for a long time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re used to them as they are. It feels like a second home to most of us who work here. We just try to keep things moving along as best as we can, day by day.
