The Westin Sohna-Gurgaon Resort & Spa

If you head out towards Sohna and take the Karanki Road, you’ll find us at the Vatika Complex. This isn't like the hotels in the middle of Gurgaon where everything is concrete and glass. Out here, things are a bit more spread out. We have a lot of green space around the resort, and it feels much more like the countryside. The P.O. Box is in Dhaula, which tells you how far out we are from the main city hub. The staff here mostly lives in the surrounding villages or in Sohna itself. We spend our days making sure the grounds look good and the rooms are ready for guests who want to escape the city noise. It’s a big property, so there’s always something that needs fixing or a garden that needs watering. The Karanki Road can be a bit bumpy in places, but once you get inside the gates, it’s quite peaceful. We have the spa and the pool, which take a lot of work to keep running right. It’s not always easy keeping a place this big going, especially when it’s hot outside. We don't really use that polished corporate language you might expect. We’re just a bunch of people working in a resort trying to keep everything tidy. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the buildings. At night, you can actually see the stars, which is something you don’t get in Gurgaon.
