The Leela Kempinski Hotel Gurgaon

Working at The Leela Kempinski Hotel over here on NH-8 is always interesting. We are located right at Ambience Island in Gurgaon, so there’s always something happening nearby. It’s a big place and it takes a lot of us to keep the wheels turning. Most days we are just busy running around the different floors or checking on the kitchen and the lobby. Behind the scenes, it isn't all as polished as the guest rooms look. We have our own small offices and break areas where we just talk like regular people. The traffic on the highway outside can be pretty loud during the day, but once you’re inside the walls, it gets a lot quieter. We have a lot of different teams here, from the people doing the laundry to the ones handling the bookings. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things get a bit chaotic when there is a big wedding or a conference. We just try to handle it one thing at a time. The heat in Gurgaon during the summer is no joke, so we are all pretty thankful for the air conditioning. We don’t use a lot of corporate talk when we’re just working. We just say what needs doing and we go do it. It is just a job at the end of the day, but we’ve been doing it here for a long time. The location is great because the mall is right next door for lunch.
