Shiksha Abacus Academy

Sector 52 is a pretty normal area, and that is where you will find Shiksha Abacus Academy. We are tucked away in one of the blocks here. The room isn't huge, but it fits enough desks for the kids who come by to practice their mental math. Most days it is quite noisy because you have kids clicking their abacus frames and calling out numbers. It isn't a corporate setup with a front desk or a waiting lounge. Parents usually just stand by the door or wait on their scooters outside when they come to pick up their children. We have some charts on the walls that are a bit faded now, but they still do the job. Sector 52 has grown a lot, but this little corner stays about the same. We don’t spend much on decorations because the focus is really just on the learning part. Sometimes we have to move the tables around to make more space if a bigger group shows up unexpectedly. It is just a local spot where we try to help kids get better with numbers without making it feel like a chore. The air conditioner hums a bit too loud sometimes, but nobody seems to mind once the lessons start. It’s a very straightforward place. We just open up in the afternoon and stay until the last kid finishes their practice sheet. That’s pretty much how things go every day here.
