Looking

This is Preeti House, a girls hostel located at 46D/3 in Gopal Nagar. We are tucked right behind the City Bus Stand in Gurgaon. It’s a very busy area because of the buses coming and going all day and night. Being so close to the stand makes it easy for the girls who have to travel for work or studies. We call the business Looking because people are always looking for a safe place to stay. The building is a typical Gurgaon house converted for rooms. It’s not a luxury hotel, but we make sure it’s clean and the food is okay. I spend a lot of time managing the entries and exits. We have students and working women living here. Some have been with us for years, and others just stay for a month. The rooms have beds and cupboards, the usual stuff. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a light bulb goes out, and I have to call the repairman. It’s just how it is running a hostel. We don’t have a big website or a marketing team. Most girls find us because their friends told them about it. I sit by the entrance a lot, just keeping an eye on things. It’s a lot of responsibility looking after so many people, but we just take it one day at a time. The neighborhood of Gopal Nagar is crowded, but everything you need is right there.
