Sham Ji Snacks

Our little shop is in Nangloi, specifically Shop No 1, House No 2 in Ashok Mohala. People around here know the lane as Bhooton Wali Gali. It’s a narrow street, so it gets pretty crowded with cycles and people walking by. We don't have a lot of space, just enough for the counter and the big frying vats. Every morning starts the same way, getting the oil hot and prep work done for the day. The steam fills up the front of the shop pretty fast. We don't have any fancy seating, mostly people just stand and eat or take it away in paper bags. The walls have a bit of soot on them from the cooking, but that’s normal for a place like this. We’ve been in this spot for years, and the neighbors are all like family now. You hear the sounds of the street all day—kids yelling, horns honking, and people bargaining next door. We keep things coming out in small batches so they don't sit too long. Sometimes we run out of things by noon and have to start a new batch while people wait. We don't use any high-tech equipment, just the old-fashioned way of doing things. It’s a bit messy and loud, but it’s our daily life here in Nangloi. We just focus on keeping the counter clean and the customers fed without making a big fuss about it.
