Sachin Departmental Store

You will find Sachin Departmental Store right on the Main Road in Wazirabad, and we are very close to the Senior Secondary High School. Because of the school, we get a lot of students coming in during their breaks to buy pens, notebooks, or those small packets of chips. It makes the shop very loud for about twenty minutes at a time, and then it goes quiet again. In the quieter hours, the local women from the neighborhood come in to buy their kitchen supplies like heavy bags of flour and containers of ghee. The store is quite deep, so we have a lot of shelf space for different brands of spices and cleaning supplies. Gurgaon has changed a lot since we first opened, and the road outside is much busier than it used to be. There is always some construction dust in the air, so I have to wipe down the counters quite often. We have a big deep freezer for the milk and curd which makes a lot of noise in the back. My father used to run this place before me, and he still comes in sometimes to sit on the plastic chair and talk to the old timers from the village. We just try to keep the stock full so nobody has to go all the way to the big malls for simple things. It is a decent life here and we stay open until the street lights go off.
