If you’re driving down NH-8 and see the petrol pump near Hari Nagar, that’s basically where we are. Our shop is number one, right at the Khandsha Anajmandi Chowk. It’s a busy spot with trucks and cars zooming by all day long. We deal with food supplies, mostly in bulk. The air is always full of exhaust fumes and the sound of horns, but we’re used to it by now. Inside the shop, it’s a bit cramped because we try to fit as many crates as possible. We don't have a team of people in suits; it’s just a couple of us wearing old clothes and moving boxes. Sometimes the delivery guys are late because of the traffic on the highway, and we just have to sit and wait on the front step. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’ve been at this junction for a while. The shop isn't much to look at, just some shelves and a counter, but it serves its purpose. We spend a lot of time checking the labels and making sure everything is where it should be. It gets really dusty from the road, so we spend the first hour of every morning just wiping things down before anyone shows up. The noise can be a lot, but you get used to the rhythm of the highway after a few weeks working here.
