You can find us at Plot No. 13 in the Sikandarpur Market. We are right across from Metro Pillar No. 19, which is usually how people find us without getting lost in the crowd. Selling marble means we spend a lot of time surrounded by heavy stone slabs. It’s a cold business in the winter and a dusty one in the summer. We have all kinds of pieces leaning against the walls. Some are big slabs for floors and some are small scraps for repairs. We spend a lot of time washing the dust off the surfaces so people can see the actual colors of the stone. The market here is always full of people looking for something for their homes. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning; it’s more of an open yard where you can see the stock directly. Sometimes we have to move the slabs around with a crane, which is a slow and careful process. We’ve been here since before the metro was even built. Watching the trains go by all day is just part of the routine now. It’s a family-run kind of place. We don't have fancy brochures or sales pitches. If someone wants to see what we have, they just walk in and we show them the piles. It’s honest, physical work that keeps us busy from morning until night. We go home tired every day, usually with white stone dust on our shoes and clothes.
