Our office is up on the second floor of the Housing Board Complex in the Saraswati Vihar Market. It’s located on Mehrauli Road, right in Society 18. The market is always buzzing with people, so there is plenty of noise coming up from the street. You have to climb a few flights of stairs to get to us, which is a good bit of exercise every morning. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of folders stacked up on the shelves. We spend most of our time talking to people who come in to ask about our services or sitting in front of screens getting work done. It’s not a very big space, so we all know each other’s business pretty well. The windows look out over the market, and sometimes we just watch the crowds during our lunch break. We don't have a receptionist in a suit or anything like that. Usually, whoever is closest to the door will just look up and say hello. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’ve been too busy to get around to it. It’s a practical place where we focus on the tasks at hand. We make a lot of phone calls throughout the day, and the sound of keyboards clicking is constant. It is just a regular office doing its thing in the middle of a busy neighborhood. We keep a small electric kettle for making tea when it gets cold outside.
