Jagdish Lal Sachin Kumar Halwai

We are located in the main Sadar Bazar area. The shop is named Jagdish Lal Sachin Kumar Halwai, which is a bit of a mouthful for some, but people around here just know where we are without needing a map. It is a traditional kind of setup we have here. We do not use fancy machines for everything; a lot of the heavy work is still done by hand in the back room. The market is always loud, and the space inside the shop can get a bit tight when it is busy in the evenings. We spend most of our day dealing with the heat from the large iron pans. It is a family-run kind of thing, so there is always someone around who knows the history of the shop. We do not have any polished speeches about what we do or why we do it. We just make the food, put it out in the display, and hope the local people like it. Some days the halwa comes out better than others, and that is just the honest truth of cooking. We try our best to keep the place clean, though the dust from the busy Sadar Bazar street makes it a constant battle for us. People come to us because we have been here for a long time and they know what to expect. There are no big surprises. We open early, we work late, and we do it again.
